The ongoing saga of Palestine’s quest to become an independent nation continues at the United Nations. President Abbas insists he will push for a vote in the Security Council where the prospect of a US veto looms in case the majority votes for the Palestinians. Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu quietly solicits aid from the Republican party as he urges President Obama to stand with Israel on its disastrous Middle Eastern policies.
President Sarkozy of France is urging a one year plan to get Palestinian and Israeli negotiators working on a compromise. Unfortunately, the Republican party plays along with Bibi in hope of getting American Jewish votes.
