The ongoing saga in Syria continues with involvement of Palestinian rebels in the civil war. Palestinians have lived in the status of refugees since the establishment of Israel which led thousands to flee rather than become part of the new nation. No Arab nation gave true refuge to these people which resulted in them spending over sixty years in uncertainty. No Arab nation granted their children the right to become a citizen in the nation where they were born. They remain outcasts living in a world which does not regard them as belonging anywhere but in a refugee camp. They Syrian civil war has now engulfed these people.
It appears a large segment of Palestinians in Syria support the regime of President Assad and many are now fighting alongside the Army. Who knows what awaits these unfortunate people once the rebels gain a victory. Will they once again become refugees and, if so, who will allow them to become temporary dwellers in their land?
