Pepsi-Cola, GM, and Pizza Hut Among Polluters in China

The Chinese Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs claims that major corporations such as Pepsi-Cola, Samsung, GM, and Pizza Hut are irresponsible violators of Chinese environmental regulations. According to Ma Jun of the Institute: “The parent companies in their home countries are models for environmental protection. But some of them seem to have slackened their efforts here.”

There are many reasons why major corporations seek to establish branches all over the world. One of them is escaping strict environmental controls within their own nations. They appear less concerned about polluting other nations, particularly those in desperate need for employment opportunities for their citizens.
