British Prime Minister David Cameron is upset at riots which swept London and is concerned they reflect a break down in society by those who are poor. Let me quote his remarks: “We must fight back against attitudes that have brought parts of our society to this shocking state. Irresponsibility selfishness. Behaving as if your choices have no consequences. Children without fathers. Schools without discipline. Reward without effort. Crime without punishment. Rights without responsibilities. Some of the worse aspects of human nature tolerated, indulged–sometimes even incentivised by the state and its agencies.”
I believe Cameron in describing what happened in London also described what happened to his nation due to the selfish, indulged, government supported business and financial communities which wrecked the nation’s economy. Talk about “crime without punishment!” How many billionaires and those in the financial community who destroyed the lives of millions have even been compelled to pay a fine, let alone go to prison! He attacks poor people for “irresponsibility, selfishness, behaving as if your choices have no consequences!”
Yes, Mr. Cameron, every one of your words applies to the wealthy of your nation. Instead of attacking victims, how about going after those who destroyed the British economy!!
