POVERTY IN AMERICA

Poverty in America continues to rise even as Republicans insist the wealthy of this nation will not work hard unless all taxes are ended on them. Data from 2011 reveals the real median income has dipped 1.5%. There has been no decline in the number of poor people who now number 46.2 million. The poverty rate for children under the age of 18 is 21.9% or some 16.1 million human beings.

Of course, even as poverty increases, the  income of the top 1% continues to rise. I get confused. Republicans insist that wealthy people will not work hard unless taxes decrease but assume poor people will work harder as their income  declines. Republicans never met a rich person who doesn’t need a tax break!
