Protect Our Soldiers

Lost in the conflict about sexual assault of members of the armed forces is a basic fact-those being attacked are members of our armed forces and the basis of our military is that when one soldier is attacked, then all soldiers are attacked. Chief of Staff Ray Ordierno admitted the rash of attacks on those in the armed forces violate the basic tenets of what officiers are supposed to do-protect their men AND WOMEN! He is clear that officers “failed to protect soldiers, civilians and family members from rape.”

He claims existing procedures will prevent future assaults. Unfortunately, that will not occur until ALL officers under his command perform their duties as officers in the military. Ordierno wants accountability. That will not happen until officers are held accountability and a few wind up with a court martial.
