Putin Sort Of Backs Democracy

After  first being elected president of Russia, Vladimir Putin pushed through new laws which empowered governors to appoint senators  who served in the Federation Council of Senators. Naturally, Putin appointed the governors who appointed the senators. This was simply what is known as “Putin Democracy.” After all, how could one have a functioning democracy if senators opposed the views of the president? Just look at the situation in the American Congress.

Vladimir has something like a change of heart. He now wants gubernatorial candidates to select who could run for the Senate. Why? Who knows? One must never forget this is Putin Land which is ruled by our Beloved Leader who must have all the power in order to maintain law and order.
