There is a propensity among those who have been in power to acknowledge their source of power could possibly be constructed on the exploitation of others. A group of men whose origin is from India were playing pool in a bar in Victoria when some whites began to utter insults and curse them. The Indians decided just to leave the bar and head home, but the whites were insistent and within moments they assaulted the men and beat them up. As the beatings proceeded a crowd gathered to watch the festivities.
The police denied reports from India that about 70 had observed the beating insisting there were ONLY twenty odd people. The police were in no hurry to issue a statement about the assaults and it was not until the press of India became aroused did anyone become interested in getting to the root of the problem.
After all, they were only a group of Indians.
