There is increasing evidence racist attacks are growing in many areas in Lithuania. The Indian singer, Bemeen, who works in the area has encountered examples of people using expressions such as “nigger” in order to describe him or his colleagues. This week, a gang assualted Bemeen, who is black, resulting in a beating that sent her to the hospital. The singer who performs in Lithuania and on local TV notes: “You cannot escape such people because they are everywhere. I worked hard in nine months and I do not plan to run from somebody calling me a ‘nigger.’ This was the first attack of such in my life. I have forgotten things like this. I kow this happens in all parts of the world, not only in Lithuania, but also London, South Africa, America. But it is totally different when it happens in a small country like this.”
Official figures indicate there has been a rise in such attacks, but they still number fewer than fifty nationwide. Obviously, one such incident is one too many, but until the numbers of black skinned people rise in the Baltic nations, these attacks will remain local in nature.

I have been dating a Lithuanian girl.Never a thing like this has ever happened to me when i visited the country.My impression was that i was a popular rarety.I was allways looking for a country where the white man would accept me.
After hearing this i lost total hope.I think that the government shall not allow to many immigrants to enter Lithuania it will only make people more racist look at the facts.I think the best place for people of colour is our own country.I think unfortunately that races and cultures cannot mix without a bad consequence.All my life i was attacked by whites wether phisically verbally or mentally i see no hope.Befor any racist shall think that people of colour are bad look at the killings that the white man did in Africa america and the South Pacific.They stole many countries from others and i allways believed that there are some good people in every race.

There are good people and things have changed in nations like the United States. Racism still exists but it is dramatically different from life fifty years ago. In America, 8% of all marriages are now between blacks and whites so there are people who are moving ahead.

Iam an African taking my masters degree in Real estate managemnt. I live with a Lithuanian girl. God has blessed us with a very beautiful daughter. We were planning to move to Lithuania as soon as I finish my masters degree so that we can start a new life there. After reading and hearing of these kind of racisms, we are now planning to go to African where she will be welcomed and she will feel at home. This makes me proude to be an African, because Africans are the only people in the world that are socially civilized. Racism is world wide, but it is hardly heard of in Africa. Afterall we are all human beings and we should all learn to live together in peace.

The United States Government has already given the business community about one trillion dollars and just about every economist believes they need at least two trillion more to clean up the mess they created.
I teach a course on the history of crime. There are 2.3 million people in American jails of whom 700,000 are in for drug offenses. A high majority of those are Hispanics and African Americans. Of course, you can count on the fingers of both hands how many people worth a million dollars are in jail for drug offenses. Leave out the drug “criminals” and the figures you cite disappear.

Yes the Economy is in shambles, and the Wall Street is to blame. However no system is without flaws, and this particular one has been in place since the time the United States of America was founded. There have been worse times in the American history, and the times we face now are to pass eventually. And sure, the millionaires who are responsible will go unpunished – that is the power of money. However, you must be completely insane if you believe that the only damages of crime is money loss. Drugs on their own bring in an entire sphere of crime; fighting over drug territory, dealing and using drugs, murders, rapes and so on. Areas where drug warlords compete turn into war zones and result in countless deaths. Besides this significant human loss, what about the legal costs of putting all of these criminals behind bars? What about how many police officer lives are lost in the process? What about the costs that are needed to build and maintain the prisons? You know I would much rather have some rich scoundrel take away my money, than have criminal kill my kids or deal drugs to them. I would like to see you explain to a mother who lost her kids to this type of violence, about the evils of capitalism, and how much money the government needs to dedicate to cure the current economic troubles of the nation. The statistics tell you everything you need to know, but some people are just too god damned stupid to understand them.

The point that I am making is that you cannot put a money value on a human life. You think that drugs should be legalized just so we could empty our prisons? Why not legalize murder too? Our drug laws are not “insane”. In fact if anyone is unsatisfied with any law in this fine nation that is perfectly fine. They have the choice of moving or going to prison. Whichever you choose is up to You. The laws in this country are not set forth to suit YOUR individual needs. They are set forth to protect the society. I think all of you are wrong, there are racist people in every single country, even black people are racist the think they are the best in the world, but not true. I am a South American man, my wife is from Lithuania, we have a beautiful son. We go to Lithuania 2 times a year, Christmas and summer, the people are friendly my wife’s family love me very much, my wife’s friends like me and welcome me when we are there. The problem with black people is that most of them are criminals, drug dealers, rapist, thiefs etc. that is the reason Lithuanian people dont like them ( not all ). I am a Latin American man, I am not black but because of their behaviour I don’t like them. In my country there are racist people as well and sometimes we dont like each other, I think its nature or just the way we are. I have just read a number of different views and I am appalled by the narrow minds of people. In every country and economy we need hard working people regardless of race, religion, colour, belief etc. As long as people abide by the laws of the country and pay taxes then no one should have a problem with anyone. Usually it is the few who do have a job who are a minority who are picked on by the the narrow minded few and the these views of “they are taking our jobs etc.” and if they don’t have a job then they are living on state benefits. All I can say is that the racist people are more than usually the uneducated people, who are violent, jobless and have no respect for their own country or themselves and others. I have many coloured and Caucasian friends and we live side by side and we are happy. These extreme few, and I would say on both sides, no necessary coloured or Caucasian cause crimes and bad things that do not help anyone. Eastern Europe generally is racist due to primitivity, backwardness and a general lack of inclusion in western civilised ideals. After the fall of the soviet union these countries tried to reclaim their identity and social ideals but it will take a long time. They view other colours as new invaders after living like slaves under the Russians. I could not help but feel sorry for many of them as they are not mentally clued on and stable. One thing I know is this, no country in the world can stop multiculturalism, no matter what you do the face of your country WILL change like, it or not. We have seen many countries like Ireland recently try to use racism to stop other colours settling there and they failed woefully. Lithuania will also fail!
