Republican Chairman Claims Afghanistan War Obama Idea

Nine long years ago Republican President George Bush ordered American forces to invade Afghanistan and overthrow the Taliban government which he claimed had been responsible for 9/11 attacks. Fast forward to July, 2010 and we discover, according to Michael Steele, chairman of the Republican party, that Barack Obama was the one who decided to fight in Afghanistan and Republicans had nothing to do with this decision. Mr. Steele was captured on camera making the following statement: “if he’s(Obama) is such a student of history, has he not understood that, you know, that’s the one thing you don’t engage in a land war in Afghanistan? All right? Because everyone who’s tried, over a thousand years of history, has failed. And there are other reasons for that. There are other ways to engage in Afghanistan.” He went on to say, “this was a war of Obama’s choosing. This is not something the United States has actively prosecuted or wanted to engage in.” After the schumuck was told what he said was an insult not only to President Obama, but his own party, he issued a statement that said: “the stakes are too high for us to accept anything but success in Afghanistan.”

Republicans are attempting to use the English language in creative ways to get around the reality it was their party which began the war in Afghanistan, it was their president who initiated fighting and was responsible for eight years to create a stable Afghan government, but failed. I await Republican explanations of how the $5 trillion national debt inherited by George Bush rose to $10 trillion by the time he left office.

FLASH!! We have just received notice from Rush Limbaugh the invasion of Afghanistan was the fault of Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. As for that debt thing, if you examine actions by President Franklin Roosevelt during WWII you would discover he raised the national debt in order to pay for the war. Mommy, the Democrats are responsible for all bad things in the world!!
