On my Facebook pages I continually encounter young Americans who believe the nutty economics of Ron Paul makes sense. They rant and rave about the evils of Social Security and Medicare and are furious at Obamacare. At the heart of their ignorance is the view that Social Security is bankrupt and that Medicare and Obamacare do not help people. Of course, of every dollar going into Social Security and Medicare 3 cents goes for overhead while private insurance uses 16 cents for overhead.

These individuals refuse to understand basic economics, and they display complete indifference to those without healthcare. I shudder to think how these young people could vote for intelligent leadership this nation so  requires. We need compulsory courses in economics.
