Rumors are flying of a possible American and Iranian discussion regarding solving the issue of nuclear weapons for the nation of Iran. A New York Times story insists that US and Iranian diplomats have agreed to discuss possible compromise solutions to this problem. President Obama has made clear that sanctions will continue unless Iran agrees to allow UN inspection and return to serious discussions of how to avoid the spread of nuclear weapons.
We expect Mitt Romney will take a stand against such discussions. We can expect at the Monday debate that Mitt will insist he opposes compromise and wants to draw red lines in the sand of time. Mr.Romney knows as much about foreign policy, about compromise as he does regarding what he said a few years ago about abortion or gun control or health care.
The great leader of England during WWII, Winston Churchill, once said: “jaw, jaw, not war, war.” Sound advice!
