Vladimir Putin is accustomed to having people with whom he is having a conversation understand that his ideas are the correct ones, so it is not unusual for him to confuse a guest in his house. Secretary of State John Kerry had extensive conversations with the Great Leader, and then Prime Minister David Cameron took a shot at working with the Great Leader to resolve the crisis in Syria. Both Cameron and Kerry came away from the discussion believing there might be a transition process in Syria that would allow creation of a national government without President Assad. Alas, both western leaders now understand that even it a document was written and signed, whatever Putin says is so is so.
A new conflict in Syria. Frankly, who said what is among the least volatile conflicts raging in Syria. At this point in time, there are so many conflicts that it is difficult deciding which rates number one on the list of solving something.
