Social Media Soldier Tweets Away

There are times in life when the entire concept of the social media leaves me confused as to what the hell is going on. There is a member of the United States Army known by the name of Tariqka Sheffey who decided not to appear at the raising or lowering of the flag. She sent the following tweet to one and all: “This is me laying back in my car today so I don’t have to salute the 1700 flag. KAPPE ALL THATS SO DISRESPECTFUL/HOW/RUDE COMMENT TO YOURSELF.” Ok, so this soldier who VOLUNTARILY joined the United States Army has some negative feelings toward the United States of America and its 2014 flag. Sorry, mam, but the current flag has no connection with the flag in 1776, a time when slavery was legal.

She is upset at the flag. Then, why the hell did you VOLUNTARILY join the Army you don’t like? Huh? If you voluntarily decided to serve, then serve and shut up! And, why are you informing the world that you are an idiot? Some use the social media to prove they are nut cases, this is one example.

Oh, the unit commander did something. Frankly, the only logical thing to do is to allow this person to leave the armed forces.
