President Bashar al-Assad is determined to become the next Middle Eastern petty dictator who is killed by those who once adored him as a leader. Another 100 people died in Syria yesterday even as observers from the Arab League entered in order to supervise a process for peace. Of course, they can travel around the country “under protection of the state” and they can see anything they desire other than “sensitive military sites.” Assad claims that foreign backed “armed terrorists” are responsible for chaos in his nation.
At least 5,000 Syrians have died during the past several months and it is unlikely they were killed by foreign terrorists. Just check the local police department for murderers. It is clear hundreds of soldiers are deserting the army because of disgust with having to kill their own people. We are witnessing the beginning of a civil war which will become bloody.
I await claims by President Assad that “foreign terrorists” are none other than agents for the Israel Mossad.
