Diplomats from Iran and western nations once again met to discuss the fear of an Iranian nuclear weapon. They talked, they negotiated and Secretary of State John Kerry was able to report that both sides were “far apart.” This is no surprise, given the history of relations between the US/UK and Iran. During the 1950s, those nations over threw the government of Iran and ensured the return to power of the Shah. Israel builds nuclear weapons and is not required to have its program supervised by UN bodies. Israel is allowed to disregard UN demands for respect of land owned by Palestinians. Israel violates and violates UN threats, but Iran is expected to obey — immediately!
Perhaps, the first step is demanding that Israel obey UN requirements and the right of UN bodies to inspect Israel nuclear facilities. After that is in place, how about restarting negotiations with Iran??
