The American media so enjoys offering violent films in which the “enemy” is tortued into revealing information and the city of Los Angeles is saved from the ticking bomb. A new film, “Zero Dark Thirty” argues that waterboarding and other torture were responsible for obtaining information that led to the death of Osama bin Laden. The film supports the Cheney/Rumsfeld version of fighting wars-torture the enemy. Of course, the two Gold Dust twins never fought in a war, and Dick insisted throughout the Vietnam war that he had “better things to do.” Fortunately, there is ONE man in Congress who can speak with authority on this subject-Senator John McCain.
Senator McCain was shot down in Vietnam and subject to torture for years and never broke. He insists the film is “grossly inaccurate and misleading in its suggestion that torture resulted in information that eld to the capture(of Osama bin Laden).” In a letter to Sony Pictures sent by McCain, Senator Diane Feinstein and Senator Carl Levin, they urge the film company to ‘consider correcting the impression that the CIA’s use of coercive nterrogatin led to the operation(capture of Osama)”
This is one time a member of Congress knows reality.
