Turkey’s anger toward Kurds in Iraq is now embroiled in the upcoming Turkish election as each political party tries to act tougher in its stand against Iraq. As in America, parties are accusing one another of being “soft” toward Kurdish separatist forces which cross the border in Turkey and create problems.
The problem for the United States is a nightmare scenario in which Turkish armed forces cross the Iraq border and clash with Iraq soldiers. What then? Does the United States confront Turkey? This entire situation is simply another example of the “no plan” Bush administration stumbling into one problem after another.
