There are reports President Ahmadinejad is willing to allow Turkey to serve as the intermediary in dealing with Iranian enriched uranium. Under a proposal by the IAEA, Iran’s enriched uranium could be shipped to Turkey until Russia supplies Iran with highly enriched uranium. According to IAEA director, Mohamed ElBaradei, “Iran has a lot of trust in Turkey” and might be willing to use it as a way out of the impasse about sending uranium directly to Russia.
Sometimes, even the most difficult and complex problem can be readily solved if all parties are willing to cooperate. Perhaps, this is a message for Israel to use Turkey as an intermediary in dealing with Palestinians. Of course, this would entail actually taking advice from a third party which tends to be difficult for Israeli leaders.
