US, Russian, Chinese Inspectors in North Korea

September 12th, 2007 by Fred Stopsky · No Comments

Inspectors from the United States, Russia, and china visited nuclear facilities in North Korea at the invitation of the government. US Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill said the invitation is “a significant step toward the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.” The inspectors are expected to complete their work before the end of the year.

President Bush characterized North Korea as belonging to the “evil empire” and said it was a waste of time entering into negotiations. He has once again been proven wrong in his claims that negotiation does not work. Bush believes in armed force, but the end of nuclear issues in North Korea proves the power of diplomacy can work.
