American warships have sailed through the Strait of Hormuz for decades and there is scant likelihood these trips will halt due to threats by the Iranian government. Iran’s commander-in-chief of its armed forces sent a warning to the American navy to cease and desist. “We recommend to the American warship that passed through the Strait of Hormuz and went to the Gulf of Oman not to return to the Persian Gulf. The Islamic Republic of Iran will not repeat this warning.”
The Islamic Republic of Iran has several problems. New American legislation will punish any firms purchasing oil from Iran. The European Union is close to a boycott of their oil. Sending threats may satisfy the boys who run the country, but they pose serious dangers to the people of Iran. An attack on any American vessel will result in massive bombings of Iranian military facilities.
How about jaw -jaw rather than war-war?
