The other day representatives from South Korea and North Korea actually had a conversation. That was yesterday and today is today. North Korea cancelled further discussions because South Korea wanted to send vice minister to the talks rather than send a full minister. South Korea wanted a ministerial meeting between each nation’s inter-Korean affairs agency, but North Korea did not. Apparently both sides have yet to agree who is who and what is what in the other nation. The initial topic that was to be discussed pertained to reopening closed factories.
We suggest that North and South Korea hire a few rabbis to serve as mediators. After all, rabbis have been engaged in such profound discussions for thousands of years and when it comes to clearly explaining the meaning of a word, who better can split the difference than a rabbi?
OK, I just broke the new Russian anti-blasphemy law, send in the Cossacks!
