“Where Shall We Go?”

For a moment, for twelve hours, the guns of Gaza are silent. For a moment, another body will not be killed. For a few moments, children can sleep without the sounds of explosions and fear in their hearts. Yes, for a moment, the madness which constantly envelops the Middle East has ceased. For a moment, people can stumble through streets strewn with rubble, with body parts, and find a UN site that distributed food. Unfortunately, even the UN could not offer safety to sleep since the guns of July must sound in anger and hate. This all began with the death of three innocent Jewish boys who were brutally murdered by someone or some men determined to gain revenge by killing the innocent. Sorry, but that is the ongoing story of the Israel-Palestinian conflict, those in power shout while ordinary people suffer.

Israel Defense Minister, Moshe Yaalon best summed up the crazy behavior which so dominates this area of the world. “At the end of the operation, Hamas will have to think very hard if it is wise to taunt us in the future.” Taunt us? Sorry, Mr. Yaalon, that is a comment I would expect from a twelve year old, not an important government official. Even as he spoke, Hamas was matching his childishness with boasts they will never give in until THEIR DEMANDS are accepted! Sorry, you did not “win” this war. No one has won anything. There are only losers in this conflict. Over 880 Gazans, and about 37 Israelis.

As always, the innocent die.
