Results of a poll conducted by the German Marshall Fund in 13 nations found widespread dislike for American policies in Iraq, and particular distrust of President George Bush. About 77% of respondents expressed dislike of President Bush while 17% liked him. It broke down to 38% basing their lack of trust in Bush to the war in Iraq while 34% just blamed their dislike of Bush on his own personality. A BBC poll just released found that two-thirds of those surveyed want the United States to leave Iraq.
These polls reflect the increasing lack of trust in America as a world leader. Unfortunately, they indicate this feeling will not just disappear once Bush is out of office. It will linger on until a new president begins to establish trust in the world for American policies.
