Mr. Zimmerman will be eating tonight at his home and the prospect of spending time in jail is certainly not on his mind. The issue was never whether or not was he guilty of killing an unarmed teenager. From day one of this trial the issue revolved around the topic of “self defense.” Florida law allows individuals to draw upon a self defense plea on grounds their life was threatened. Mr.Zimmerman argued that since HE felt threatened that ended the debate. In other words, if I “feel threatened” than I WAS threatened. An open and closed argument in which I always win the debate.
It is a waste of time to argue this decision. In one sense, the outcome of the trail was clear once the trial began. Mr. Zimmerman will enjoy a good life. Unfortunately, a young boy is dead and his killer will remain free for his entire life span. Such is justice in Florida.
